How would Plan management benefit me?
This blog was developed with the assistance of Plan Partners.
This article is written for NDIS participants and their carers who are struggling with the work load or limited choices with being NDIA managed or self managed.
You are probably sitting down thinking about all the invoices that your services providers have sent you and wondering if you have missed any invoices. Maybe you are wondering why you cannot get more services providers due to being NDIA managed. We have found that over time more and more NDIS participants are choosing to have a reputable plan manager assist them in managing their payments.
The Benefits of becoming plan managed:
- It gives you access to services providers who may not be registered. This is a double edged sword. You should always ensure that the services provider you choose is professional and listens to what you need.
- You will get access to tools such as dashboard and online systems to help you with monitoring your spending. Some Plan Managers may have an app to assist you to help you make decisions on the go.
How can I become plan managed?
It is simple! Speak to NDIS about becoming plan managed. You have right to choose to be plan managed, but you need to ask for it. You can call NDIS on 1800 800 110.
Tips to Assist you
You should explain to NDIS that being plan managed will help you gain flexibility. It might help if you state that its especially difficult during COVID times.
Should you be successful NDIS will contact your Local area coordinator to assist you with this transition. If you do not already have a plan manager in mind speak to Help at Hand Support Services as we have partnered some of the top plan managers in the country. We are able to provide you with a few choices to get you going. At the end of the day the decision is yours!
Who can request Plan Management?
Anyone can request to have Plan Management included in their plan – all you need to do is ask. In fact, it’s your legal right to receive Plan Management if you ask for it, and there are no criteria you need to meet to be eligible.
