Who are they?

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

National – it is available across all states and territories.
Disability – providing support to eligible people who have a range of disabilities including intellectual, physical, sensory, cognitive and psychosocial disability.
Insurance this is to give people peace of mind that they their child or loved one is born with or acquires a disability.
Scheme
– designed to support people to improve their skills and independence over time.

To be eligible you must be
  1. Living in Australia and have Australian residency
  2. Be younger than 65 years old and older than 9 ( under than 9 click here )
  3. You need support because of your disability
  4. You use special equipment because of your disability
  5. You need some supports now to reduce your future needs

  • You can manage it yourself
  • You can nominate someone to manage the funding for you
  • You can select a plan manager to manage the funding – HAHS Plan Management
  • Have the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) manage it for you.
