Stuart and Yogendra – A Special Bond

The pair’s bond
Stuart is an NDIS Participant and client of Help at Hand Support Services. Yogendra is one of his Support Workers. The two share a special and touching bond.
Stuart and Yogendra are both avid footy fans. Yogendra a Collingwood supporter and Stuart, the Sydney Swans. They enjoy a healthy and spirited competitive banter.
They like to spend their time together engaging in exercise at the park, going out for lunch, recycling, and shopping. They both greatly enjoy bowling (and of course, trying to beat each other in every match!)
Stuart has an interest in cooking, so the pair frequently cook together. Thanks to Yogendra’s kitchen knowledge and skill, food preparation and cooking have both become an easier and more efficient process for Stuart.
Their cooking has been a hit with Stuart’s parents! Stir fried noodles was a fun menu item to make, and now hamburgers are the next recipe on the agenda.
“The best thing that has ever happened to Stuart”
Yogendra, whom Stuart’s dad describes as “the best thing that has ever happened to Stuart,” has become a reliable companion and friend to Stuart and his family. Their relationship is built on a strong foundation of mutual trust, encouragement and empathy.
The Power of Personalised Support
At Help at Hand Support, we believe in creating suitably matched support workers with our participants that will result in meaningful connections, such as that of Stuart and Yogendra’s relationship. The right support worker match can significantly impact an NDIS participant’s life, helping them navigate daily challenges with confidence and companionship.
Having a support worker whose values, interests and personality align with that of the participant can make the experience for the pair more meaningful and fulfilling. Stuart and Yogendra’s bond is a reminder that support work is so much more than assisting participants, but also about sharing happy moments and building lasting memories together!
