Lisa lives with Motor Neuron Disease, which has gradually affected her breathing, energy, strength, and ability to swallow.

Fatigue and breathing difficulties have made everyday activities harder, and she no longer drives.

She uses non-invasive ventilation during the day to support her breathing and a four-wheeled walker to move around safely.

Lisa’s Experience Maintaining Independence at Home with NDIS Disability Support

Even with these challenges, Lisa is committed to staying as independent as possible and remaining in her own home.

She finds joy in spending time in her garden, which gives her a sense of purpose. Lisa can manage some tasks on her own, such as buying essentials, but she needs help with paying bills, moving safely around her home, and personal care, like dressing and bathing.

Help at Hand Support provides Lisa with practical, compassionate help tailored to her needs. We provide personal care, assist her with safe mobility using her walker or wheelchair when needed, and help manage daily tasks, such as paying bills.

We also make sure she has time to rest between activities and encourage her to enjoy gardening and other activities that matter to her.

By supporting Lisa to stay as independent as she can while offering help where it is needed, Help at Hand Support enables her to enjoy daily life, feel safe at home, and continue living the way she chooses.
