Stuart’s journey with Help at Hand Support (HAHS) is a story of connection, confidence, and personal growth. With the consistent support of his worker, Yogendra, Stuart has developed greater independence and a stronger sense of purpose in his daily life.
Stuart is a cheerful and determined man who enjoys staying active and involved in his community. He has a great sense of humour and a passion for AFL, proudly supporting the Sydney Swans.

How Does Support Empower Stuart’s Daily Life?
Each week, Stuart and Yogendratake part in a variety of activities that promote skill development, independence, and community participation.
Their routine often includes shopping, light housework, exercise, recycling, and lunch outings.
Stuart particularly enjoys bowling, where their friendly competition creates motivation and fun.
These regular outings encourage both social interaction and physical well-being while strengthening Stuart’s confidence in managing day-to-day tasks.
Cooking Together: Learning and Building Independence
Cooking has become one of Stuart’s favourite activities. Yogendra, a professional chef, uses his experience to teach Stuart practical kitchen skills and safe cooking techniques.
Through hands-on learning, Stuart is now more comfortable preparing simple meals such as hamburgers for himself and his family.
These sessions are not only about cooking but also about building independence, confidence, and pride in what he can achieve.
Shared Interests and Positive Energy
Outside of their structured activities, Stuart and Yogendra enjoy spending time together watching AFL and sharing their passion for the game.
Their friendly rivalry, with Stuart supporting the Sydney Swans and Yogendra cheering for Collingwood, adds a light-hearted, enjoyable element to their time together.
Their shared interests and positive connection reflect the person-centred approach at the heart of HAHS support, building genuine relationships that go beyond day-to-day assistance.
